I haven't been as productive. I bought a ladder from Lowes' labor day sale (they have it lasting over a week). Went to samsclub yesterday and planned to pick up the ladder. Brought Mom with me. Mistake! There were no riding carts so she sat on a display couch while I got all the stuff. Then she said she couldn't walk back to the front and needed a riding cart. So I had to go outside looking for one. I saw people leaving in them but saw battery was about to die. Finally found an odd-looking one stuffed behind a kid's play set display out front near the loading area. It was really hidden and crammed in there. Had to pick it up to get it out bc couldn't drive it out. Went back inside and clerk said "That's not one of ours!" Another one said "I think that's a Walmart cart!" I said "I don't know, but I found it out front and Mom needs it". Took it to her and said I was going to use my phone to checkout. She hopped on that thing and mumbled something to me that I didn't hear. Next thing I know, she's gone. Searched for 30 damn minutes. Finally just finished checking the stuff out and put it in the truck. Then spent another 15min looking for her. Had an associate helping me look. Finally found her in the front just outside the interior doors. She whined that she wanted stuff but had to put it back bc she forgot she left her purse with me. Kept whining about it the whole way home. She wanted some twinkies.

Ladder was not ready and it was 106 out so I headed straight home (with a brief stop to get her an ice cream at McDonalds bc she insisted). So, today I had to go to Lowes to get my ladder & she wanted me to stop at Sams to get her stupid twinkies. Grabbed them, completely forgot to get my vitamins, got some stuff for my friend & headed to Lowes. Dropped off stuff with my friend, headed home. Thunderstorm kicked up.

Brought in the stuff & started putting things away-- power went out. Went outside to get cell signal to call power company to report outage. Then had to climb into the back of the truck to unhook the tie downs to get my ladder out. Put it on the porch & brought in some rotisserie chickens I got at sams. Dissected them in the dark and put the meat in a ziploc bag in the auxiliary fridge. Power came on a few hours later but it messed up the AC.

So, AC is blowing HOT air. And I mean very hot. Like blow dryer on high heat setting high. Heated the house to 91 before I shut it off. Reset breakers and am waiting for enough time to pass to turn it back on and hope it blows cool.

Cleaned litterboxes, took out trash, picked up my friend so he could swap out some light switches. AC got fixed by a technician from the place that sold/installed the outside unit. Very nice people. One loose wire was the culprit.

Took friend back into town, grabbed salads from Walmart, refilled waterer, and am about to nap.

Thanks. It was still a bit warm at first but I ended up getting some good sleep in.
I contacted Fedex via social media (bc its pretty much impossible to get through to them by phone) to let them know they misdelivered my neighbor's package to my house and I'm not a delivery service and will not take it over there. They asked for the tracking number and I said "It was too hot for me to loo at it" but I later took a photo to send them. Not bothering to read off the number. They are making a ticket to have the driver come get it and take it over. I do not feel bad making the driver come back given that they misdeliver my stuff and never brought it to me in the past. Maybe a little bit of petty revenge.

Need to get up and eat breakfast. Got some salads. Then after 11 when curbside pickup is ready I can go get my new weedeater from home depot.

Well, it sounds like @zannej is pretty busy!

I had to take time off our project to help my BIL get the A/C in his new house fixed. The sooner they can move into their house the sooner we get our pool house back. We have some other family members that want to visit starting at the end of September through October so it would be nice if the pool house was available for them.

I got a little done on the shower project but not as much as I wanted.

I didn’t take a picture of it but I set the tile around the valve and shower outlet yesterday.

I’m wanting to make a little corner shelf out of tile like I saw a guy on YouTube do. I’m hoping to work on that this afternoon.

I got the estimate and I feel like it's a good deal.

They actually have a siding division, so....
The estimate if for gutter and downspouts, fascia, and soffits, then 2 new gable vents, tearing off all old siding, enclosing the back porch (outside only) with 7/8 osb, adding a vent, housewrap all over the house, siding entire house for 13.7k

And how will those improvements affect your equity position?

@Snoonyb , I can have force placed insurance removed and purchase my own insurance, water will flow away from my foundation (no downspouts currently), my current t1-11 siding is rotten on 3 sides, and enclosing the back porch gives a 2nd space to relax (which has nothing to do with equity lol)
I don't owe a whole lot on the house, it will be paid off by 2030. I have the worst house in a nice neighborhood, of course it won't be after I am able to get siding.
But the mental health equity is just not able to have $$ amount added onto it, and the reduction of stress will be invaluable.
On another note, it also streamlines My thoughts/ideas of how to finish the kitchen, as far as cost/types of cabinets and flooring. I know that makes no sense, just how my brain works.

Also, I will feel better about my home.

Well, I understand the, "feeing better", position, however, how does it pencil out, IE will the after improvement appraised value lead to a +,- or 0 equity position?

You see, feeling good, isn't a $ value.

The short answer (because I am at work) is yes.

And I can see how people would think "feel better" doesn't have value, however, I have no plans of selling before I die. I live in a neighborhood which has homes $160-$245 and the house as is, might appraise for $75, so.... yes, going from becoming dilapidated to looking fresh is going to add value..... as well as me to be protected from financial disaster by not having forced placed insurance on the house that only covers total loss, nothing for valuables inside or a rental during replacement, etc

Hey Ron, did you add any metal molding on the outer edges, or did you just stop using the raw tile edge?
