Well, they aren't glass or ceramic, that's the difference... If they are Paper like normal Coffee cups or Plastic, both can harbor bacteria or viruses much like a cutting board, and I don't know what they mean by "sanitize", not to mention my example of the average 16 year old caring more about watching Tik Toc than doing their jobs.
It says the cups are polypropylene or high density polyethylene. Both easy to sanitize and durable. They use tons of both materials in food processing facilities. The cups are washed by a central facility so done by a purpose made machine I imagine. Pretty simple stuff. It's a trial I guess I'd be surprised if it took off. People are too lazy.

How did you remove the cigarette butt's from the bottles?
They, in general, were used as repositories after the contents had warmed and stailed, so those were easily vacated, those used simply as convenient depositary were rinsed with a hose.

Small
town, 17K population, 1 delivery vehicle, coke was trunked in via market venders, PIGGLY/WIGGLY etc.

Well, that depends... Polypropylene, or #5, which isn't recyclable, defeating the whole purpose, might be able to be solid like a coat hanger, but they are also flimsy Cottage Cheese containers that I fly through.

Polyethylene, or #2, which is recyclable, is like a Shampoo Bottle, which could be rigid enough, but could also be Hydrogen Peroxide bottles...

Then there is Polyethylene Terephthalate, or #1, the other recyclable, which is flimsy Water and Soda bottles, probably not in contention...

I was under the impression employees at the Restaurant would be sanitizing them, but if at a central location, maybe that will work... But, they have to figure out the leaching aspect and how many uses they can get out of them, like reloading Ammo for instance... They can't heat the things up 30 times, all people will be tasting in a Hot drink is the leaching of chemicals.

Yeah! Recycling #5 has become quite a project since China's tightening of restrictions on many plastics in 2018 under the National Sword Policy. Textiles, too! Even recycling uses energy- usually petroleum based energy.

People usually don't realize that even the colored caps on pop bottles are usually #5.

Most prescription pill bottles are #5 these days. If you are interested in making the effort, Matthew:25 Ministries will accept pill bottles made from #5. Please send the lids because they clean and re-use them in disadvantaged countries.

One can also check around neighboring communities' recycling programs. Some take #5 for recycling. Terracycle is an option, but it's rather expensive for home users to purchase a box to fill with #5.

I suppose the best solution is to use less plastic. That's quite a challenge in this day. Count the number of things you touch each day that are plastic. Holy Moley! (Like the 9 x 12 inch plastic blister pack I saw in a store today that held only a mini SD card.)

What ever happened to soy plastic?

Yeah, plastic use is unavoidable... I wish everything was in glass, it would make things interesting! That just shuts down any argument about eliminating Fossil Fuels. It will never happen because literally everything you look at right now is made from Fossil Fuels... Except Dogs and Cats.

Are you trying to tell me I'm made out of Fossil Fuels...

Hey Everyone, How are we all doing, How is your summer going... Our summer here is going pretty good...`We were down east Prince Edward Island back in June for a couple of weeks, and we are heading back on Monday till the 16th of August... Then coming home, do the bodywork on the truck, and then get back downstairs to finish the bathroom I am building...

Probably wondering why I am back, was going through some things on the computer, and found this site... So here I am... Hope everyone is doing well...
Cheers~

Hey RedNeck!

Ron, the cabinets are looking great! Will the sink base cabinet have a tip-out drawer?
No. It wasn't offered with these cabinets but that's okay because Ruby doesn't like them anyway. Ruby and I design together. My input is mostly for construction, structure, sturdiness and code while her input is according to some master plan in her head. Somehow, it comes together and we end up with a plan we both like.

When I saw the empty space next to the microwave I was thinking it could use another cabinet or shelves. Sounds like shelves will be there so that should look good.
Yes. I have the shelves already. Just need to put them up but first, I need to move the Nest thermostat to another wall
I'm interested in seeing how the counter with the space underneath will turn out. I'm also looking forward to seeing whatever countertop will go there.
It should roughly look like the table/counter in the other kitchen but honestly, I'm designing as I go. I have an idea in my head. I need to work on that and get it finalized prior to the counter install in case I need to change the frame a little...it would be easier to modify the frame before the countertop is installed.
I'm still thinking the space above the window needs something. Maybe something for pots or a drying rack or a shelf of some sort.
Yeah, I know what you mean, and I mentioned it to Ruby, but she doesn't like the hanging pot look or anything exposed really. Linda (my MIL) doesn't have any good looking pots or any good looking kitchen stuff to display. Her stuff needs to be hidden behind solid doors. She will have two open shelves on the left side of the stove but that's it for openness. I trust Ruby to come up with something that will look good.

The countertop template guy came yesterday. I wish I would have taken a picture of it. I was expecting him to make a template out of wooden sticks glued together, like they used to do, but now, in the last couple years, new technology has gotten cheap enough where he brought a laser template device that looks similar to this

It communicated with an iPad that took measurements and drew the space into a digitized plan that they extract at the countertop place to cut the quartz (or whatever).

This is a YouTube of a similar device Here

Welcome back, Redneck!

How is Everyone? it is good to be back... Back in the shop finish up some more scrap... I got just about all the copper out of everything I can get the copper wire out of, Have probably about 100 pounds of copper wire and another 70 pounds of copper pipe, and I have to finish cleaning that up, so I can get top dollar for it...and about 60 pounds of aluminum...

Then I got to clean out the truck for our drive to PEI... leaving on the 1st, and heading back home on the 16th of August. Not sure I am bringing the laptop yet... If I do, you will hear from me, but if not... well I'll be absent for a few weeks again...

We were thinking of selling the house, we were originally thinking of moving to Prince Edward Island, but found out the medical is worse than here in Ontario... Houses down there are a lot cheaper than here in Ontario... And then we thought of moving back to the old neighbourhood, but after a lot of thought, we are going to say here where we are now.

So, that's what's going on here today, and the next few days... Hope YOU all have a GREAT Thursday...

Cheers~

I recycled 4 sections of steel fence and whatever else I could scrounge up, and it wasn't even worth the drive. The total was under $5... I know Copper is what thieves target though...

I was curious about Housing in Canada, looking at the prices in Victoria, which was my young man stomping grounds because Alcohol there is (or was) 19 years of age instead of 21... Many moons ago... I looked at houses in the 3bd / 2ba section, and they are WHACKED! The only available ones are 1910-1979 pretty much, and the prices are insane.... No land either.

Then I looked up the Interest rates for a 25 year loan, which is apparently the thing there, and they are higher than the US...

I wouldn't move there anyway as long as the Sociopathic Dictator is there, and I haven't figured out Taxes or anything else, but while in Victoria many moons ago, and completely plastered, I asked a Cop on Horseback because I couldn't believe that was a thing... "How do I move to Canada"... He said I would have to live there for 7 years to be a citizen, that's all I remember...

I think I'm 86'd forever from Canada though because of a "brawl" I was in while in Vancouver, which is translated in the USA as a "minor fist fight kinda barely any bruises thing"... It would help my case that I don't remember it! They took my license, punched a hole in it and sent it to me in the mail... Didn't say I was banned, but I have heard people say when they get to the border, they are told they are perma banned forever for things like that.

Well, this should finish off the Climate debate concerning CO2... Next... "Showering causes massive Climate Change... We should limit showers to once a Month"...

Thanks for this article Spicoli! I thoroughly enjoyed it. Especially, the final paragraph;

“recently, Bill Gates suggested a methane vaccine scheme to 'fight climate change.' Clearly the thinking has gone in the wrong direction, and we need to have deeper, more open, and more constructive discussions around how anthropogenic climate change is affecting the environment, e.g. asking questions on how are microplastics and the petroleum industry as a whole polluting our bodies and our environment.”

Can we believe anything our Government or media says? Kamala just said recently that they either did or will dump a trillion dollars into climate change. Whatever that means!

The government said we should use plastic to save the trees! Now, they are responsible for the largest pollution scheme ever.

There is no convincing me those people are actually from this Planet. At the very least, nothing put ON or IN this Planet can possibly hurt the Planet... Even for people that only believe in "Evolution" and not God... It doesn't matter either way, as said "Harmful" things in our Planet like Fossil Fuels would have destroyed it a long time ago... Humans surely would have destroyed the Planet long ago if we weren't tiny little micro organisms compared to the Planet!

Unfortunately, the kids today are being born without Brains, so that is undoubtedly Professor Gates' next vaccine project!

"Bill Gates the Science Guy", who is a computer guy... Huh... Sounds exactly like

"Bill Nye the Science Guy", who is a Mechanical Engineer..

It's not easy to move to Canada. I was looking into it just a week or two ago. You an do it through work visas the easiest it seems or opening a business. Couldn't find a simple path as a retiree. We have friends that live there about an hour drive or so and I thought maybe with a sponsor or something but didn't see anything like that. The way things are going here Canada will be building a wall. Of course we'll pay for it like Mexico did for ours.

It's interesting, when gov. mandate a program, in the hopes someone somewhere, who actually thought this thru, will save their butts.
